Level 130 upgrade guide

Welcome to the level 130 upgrade guide!

Requirements:
– A lvl 130 main.
– Mercs that can stand their ground in Troy missions.
– The general level of your other mercs doesn’t need to be as good as for the 120 upgrade since you have no single normal pve quest, only missions, except for a quest loot from skirmishes (which can be done in a group).
– You will need a free personal craft for a 10 mil workload quest craft.
– Recommended: Having completed 120 upgrade and having an idea what a TBS mission is.
– Recommended: Maybe find a friend or two to speed things up?

Gears:
– As you’re 130 on your main, you can already use Evil on him, Evil +0/+1 and weapons at +2 will do.
– The same is valid for your mercs. If they’re not 130 yet, try to give them at least DG armours.

Quests:
– Level 130 also gives you access to a rewarding quest chain: Trojan War from Officer Ody. It goes along with the upgrade quest NPCs’ quests.
– The NPCs for the upgrade are Athena and Ares.
– Both quest chains will lead you through the events in Homer’s Troy.

TBS missions:
– https://secretsofatlantica.wordpress.com has superb trap maps and videos. I will not go into details of the missions for this reason, including the traps.
– Make sure you checked the trap map and remember the traps. Those can be a pain in unknown missions.
– Make sure you have enough damage scrolls, healing scrolls, Elixir VIs/Miracle Potions.
– With a bit of a coward attitude you will probably also get full upgrades (level 5). Level 3 is plenty enough, except maybe in Saving Helen, but if you want to be on the very safe side.. do it.

130 upgrade and 130 main quest step by step:

A) Officer Ody

– Rage of the Gods: Talk to Officer Ody and bring him 5 Storm Elements. (Exp: 1.5 mil; Gold: 2.0 mil)

– Scouting Party: Officer Ody wants you to send a priest called Briseis to her deserved death in Scouting Party. You can solo this mission from NPC Primus without problem, it’s the level 50 mission, the lowest available. (Exp: 10.0 mil; Gold: 7.5 mil)

– Base Defense: Achilles doesn’t like the Acheans anymore, since you killed Briseis. So, all the work is on you: Officer Ody sends you to kill Glaucus in Base Defense, the level 60 skirmish mission, given by NPC Primus. (Exp: 12.5 mil; Gold: 9.0 mil)

– Uncertain Leadership: Talk to Officer Ody and bring him 200 Energy of Atmosphere. The items are given to Achilles’ best friend Patroclus who will give them to Achilles in a moment of deep gay love. He succeeds and comes back to help you and the Achaeans. (Exp: 1.5 mil; Gold: 2.0 mil)

– Fortress Assault: Now that Achilles is back and the drama around him is solved, it’s time to make Sarpedon bite the dust in a fortress held by this Trojan general. The mission, Fortress Assault, requires level 80 and can be started at NPC Primus. (Exp: 15.0 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

– Warrior’s Honor: Patroclus, the guy with the gay interest in Achilles and the 200 Energy of Atmosphere, has been fighting on the battlefield, disguised as Achilles. He was killed and you have to restore his honour. You have to kill Penthesilea and Polites. This mission is best done in duo, since you will need to build ships. The bosses are also hit quite hard. Ships can be sethed and will then one-hit things. The first island in Warrior’s Honor, given by NPC Primus, has traps too, unlike the guides you might find could be telling you. (Exp: 20.0 mil; Gold: 12.5 mil)

– Reconciliation: Achilles is a wimp and is crying about the loss of Patroclus. Read his letter. (Exp: 1.0 mil; Gold: 0.9 mil)

– Reversal: Achilles is raging and wants you to help him kill Hector in the Reversal mission, given by NPC Medius. This mission has ships too, you can seth them yet again to help your aim. TALK TO ATHENA BEFORE STARTING THE MISSION, she wants you to kill Hector as well. (Exp: 25 mil; Gold: 15 mil)

B) Athena
– Sacrifice: A girl needs jewelry, so give Athena the 5 Multi-Hued Soul Crystals she’s asking for. (Exp: 5.0 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

– Favoured Achaean: That would be Officer Odysseus. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Deception Among Gods I: Ares has taken a part in the war, but for the Achaeans. Athena wants you to spy on him and pretend you’re his friend. So, go talk to Ares and do what he wants. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

C) Ares
– Praise Me: Call him “Great Ares“. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Honorable Prince: For obscure reasons, Ares also wants you to kill Hector in the Reversal mission. You can do it now. Make sure you still have the quest from Officer Ody. NPC Medius gives this quest. (Exp: 20.0 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

D) Athena
– The True Identity of Ares: Return to Athena after slaughtering Hector. Talk to her and read what she says about the person Ares really is. (Exp: 20 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

– Deception Among Gods: Athena sends you to Ares yet again. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

E) Ares
– A Valuable Reward: Ares gives you a break, but he wants you back after this quest. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Twice Praised: Indeed he wants you call him “Great Ares” again. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Two Sons: Ares is telling you he has two sons, Phobus and Deimus. He sent them to the battlefield for Troy, but he’s not sure Troy has the virtue to deal with the power he gives. In fact, some guys named Crazed Swordsmen have been getting too much of this power and you need to teach them how to use it by killing them. Obviously being dead they can’t use it, but don’t tell that to Ares… TALK TO OFFICER ODY BEFORE YOU PROCEED.

F) Officer Ody
– At an impasse: Achilles went all emo after Hector got killed. He didn’t cut wrist, but he sent you a letter. You have to read it. (Exp: 1.0 mil; Gold: 0.9 mil)

– Heart of Troy: Officer Ody wants you to kill Paris, because he’s behind the war, and you need to kill him in the Heart of Troy mission given by NPC Medius. DO G) BEFORE YOU PROCEED. (Exp: 25.0 mil; Gold: 15 mil)

G) Heart of Troy
You now have to kill five crazed swordsmen and Paris. Athena however will give you a kill quest on Paris as well. The mission, Heart of Troy, given by NPC Medius, gives you five of these guys. Here’s what I recommend doing:
– Check the trap map as usual.
– I recommend going with at least one friend (or an alt to stop the map from progressing too fast), since you will have to withdraw during the mission in order to grab a new quest.
– You have to kill the 5 swordsmen first, so kill them while you’re the companion of Achilles, then kill a spawn and a mystic stone. Proceed to the mini, kill the second spawn with your catapult (the alt or companion should have it, so it’s not destroyed when you withdraw), then be the companion of Philoctetes till he disappears. Deal with the last mobs around the second mystic stone. Make the third person or the alt stall the fight. Meanwhile you withdraw and talk to Ares and complete the last step of [E], then talk to Athena (see [H]) and get the kill quest for Paris.
– Enter the mission again after you have both kill quests for Paris, the one from Officer Ody which you already got right from the start, and the new one from Athena.

H) Athena
– The Evil of War: You learned from Ares that he sent Phobus and Deimus to war. So, you will have to deal with them. But before you do so, you will have to make sure the person behind the war, Paris, as you know from Officer Ody, is dead. Kill the fellow and make sure to follow the sequence explained in [G] (Exp: 20 mil; Gold: 10 mil).

– The Crafty General: Laocoon is the first general blocking the progress of the Trojan Horse. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– He’s Probably Noticed: Talk to Ares again, who meanwhile noticed the death of Paris by your hand and the ones of Phobus and Deimus by Athena’s doings. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

I) Ares
– I Don’t Like It: Ares is not happy that things are going bad and that Paris is dead. Talk to Athena quickly and come back. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– A Warlike War! Ares wants to mess with Ody and asks you which is the weapon Ody just built. It’s the Trojan Horse. But Ares can’t do much since Athena is protecting Ody. Also he wants to kill the horse, but we know how that ended… (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Interference: Ares persuaded Vulcanus, also known as Hephaistus in the Greek Mythology, is helping Ody and Athena with gears. You have to distract Vulcanus from helping them by giving him an order himself. Vulc a spirit or deep sea item to +5 and then get back to Ares. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Fools: Ares finally learned that Deimus and Phobus are no more and wants you to gather their souls. You can get 30 Phobus’ Soul Shard in the skirmish in Yggdrasil, Kriemhild’s Forest, and 30 Deimus’ Soul Shard in the skirmish of Detroit, Deserted Hall. Now craft the two Soul Crystals of Terror, 10 mil workload. (Exp: 10.0 mil; Gold: 8.5 mil)

– Not Like Me: Ares is enraged and is going to join the war. Go talk to Athena about it. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

J) Athena
– It’s Time: Use the Aegis of Divinity to make sure you are protected in the upcoming war. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Athena’s Chosen: Prepare to battle Ares. He is disguised as Ares’ Slave Giant. Ares’ Slave Giant can be found in Troy’s Last Battle. Troy’s Last Battle is an epic mission with up to six people. Being at four or five people should be good enough with average gears. You can start this level 115 mission at NPC MediusTALK TO OFFICER ODY BEFORE THE MISSION. (Exp: 52.5 mil; Gold: 35.0 mil)

K) Officer Ody
– After A Hero’s Death: Philoctetes sent you a letter telling you something about a power behind the Trojans, a power not even gods would touch. Read the letter. (Exp: 1.0 mil; Gold: 0.9 mil)

– Full-Scale War: Give Officer Ody 50 Big Slab of Lumber and 5 Titanium Ingot so he can build the Trojan Horse. (Exp: 1.5 mil; Gold: 2.0 mil)

– Queen’s Welfare: Philoctetes continued his mission and managed to get in touch with the abducted Helen. She whines shortly about the number of people that died just to save her useless behind and then asks Ody to send him the Trojan Horse in a suicide mission. Read the letter. (Exp: 1.0 mil; Gold: 0.9 mil)

– Saving Helen: Now that the horse is ready you can go to NPC Medius and start the Saving Helen mission where you have to kill Riederan’s Pulverizer an unknown device from Riederan. (Exp: 27.5 mil; Gold: 20.0 mil)

– Prelude to Troy’s Fall: Bring Officer Ody 10 Vulcan’s Hammer and 50 Guardian Stone [III] to repair and improve the horsey a bit more. (Exp: 1.5 mil; Gold: 2.0 mil)

– Troy’s Last Battle: Troy has reached the point where it has to end, as it is abusing the power it has been given. You have to kill its king, King Priam, in the epic Troy’s Last Battle mission. Make sure you still have the quest from Athena asking you to kill the Ares’ Slave Giant. NPC Medius can start the mission. (Exp: 30 mil; Gold: 25 mil)

– Ruins of the Castle: Priam’s Journal has been found and he regrets that the Trojans ever got the power the Atlantians had. He also asks himself who the people searching Atlantis are. Ody is also asking why there are people searching for Atlantis and where they actually went. Read the letter. (Exp: 1.0 mil; Gold: 0.9 mil)

– Hidden Power: Officer Ody wants you to check how deep the hidden power penetrated into Troy. For this reason you have to run the Hidden Power mission, given by NPC Terminus to kill Hector, who is now Revived Hector and to start destroying the power behind Troy. TALK TO ATHENA BEFORE YOU PROCEED. (Exp: 40.0 mil; Gold: 35.0 mil)

[Notice: This ends the part of the Officer Ody quest chain that goes along with the lvl 130 upgrade. Once you’ve done Hidden Power for both Officer Ody and for Ares, there’s only Last Stand Left to run for Ody. The upgrade quest won’t ask you for this mission. The Trojan War chain will also ask you for the only real pve part after Hidden Power. Good luck!]

L) Athena
– Before Talking To Him: Before you tell Ares that he is defeated, you must heal your characters completely. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Make Him Surrender: Tell Ares that the Trojans lost because they were following an unlawful power and therefore couldn’t follow his orders. Strong Nectar is to be delivered to him, so he can swallow the bad news a bit better. Go to Ares. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

M) Ares
– Betrayed: Ares feels betrayed, but the nectar cools him down. Give it to him. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Acceptable Reason: Ares mumbles something about how he doesn’t know why the Trojans failed him, but he recalls Dark Alexandra who has been talking about how dead soldiers would be coming back to life and fight again. He tells you to kill that chick, so he can see more clearly why things went as they did. Run Hidden Power and kill Dark Alexandra. Make sure you still have the quest from Officer Ody asking you to kill Hector. DON’T OPEN ALL THE REWARD BOXES, KEEP ONE PER PERSON FOR THE NEXT ATHENA QUEST. (Exp: 20.0 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

– Lost Interest: Ares sees why he had no influence on the events and that his sons had no chance. Since he has nothing to say about the course of the war, he loses interest in it. You can go tell that to Athena. Do it! (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

N) Athena
– The Glory of Victory: Athena is happy that you did better than she expected. She will give you her blessing, but that needs you to pay her with a Troy Victorious Treasure. (Exp: 5.0 mil; Gold: 10.0 mil)

– My Champion: She adores you and wants you to find a cover for her, her helmet that is. Five minutes to find a treasure in the Parthenon, North of Athens. Come back with the helmet. (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

– Glorious Ending: Endless numbers of Trojans died in vain in the war. NPCs have sent you to hellish missions. At least it gives you the reward. Use Athena’s Holy Olive Perfume to bestow your body. The reward for this is the item called “Athena’s Blessing” (Exp: 0.95 mil; Gold: 0.8 mil)

The quests are done, but you’re still not upgraded? Well, you need to use the item Athena gave you properly. You always wanted that annoying blue + symbol above your head to go away? Well, click it. Change your looks again, change your (ingame!) gender, if you want. Click the confirmation button and you are upgraded.
